Better Late, Than Never

The first step to recovery is admittance. I admit that I am late. But better late than never! I've held back, but I plan on working on that. Thoughts stir through my mind constantly about Race, Gender, & Media, but sometimes I just dismiss them a lot. So, here is my attempt to do better.

Over the past few weeks of school, my TV has been on CNN more times than ever in life. My senses are more alert on what is going on with the world and with others around the world. Local news, not really my forte. I check my email a lot, so they always have the latest headlines appearing on the home page, which is really helpful. Whenever I'm not overloaded with schoolwork, I tend to pick up the Quick for a scoop on what's the latest. I used to read the NT Daily, but after I worked for them and didn't have the best experience, I have kind of drifted away from it. Whatever. I'm more interested in being in the know with what's going on because I'm more of a social butterfly when there is always something interesting to chat about.

I wish the newsroom was more diverse. Although, I don't believe you can use affirmative action and expect that something will automatically not be so one-sided. But journalists are supposed to be non-bias. Riiight. Doesn't quite happen that way when you have someone above you pulling strings and putting ideas of unemployment in your head.

"It is difficult to get a man to understand something when his job depends on not understanding it. "

And on that note, peace.
